We HAVE to go to VITRA!

I could think of three reasons why we really need to push through with the Vitra trip this March: 1. who knew Vitra had a showroom here? or was that a factory? who knew Vitra had a showroom/factory; 2. our class is itching to get some exposure and maybe some sun since we're all looking rather pasty and bedraggled(or is it just me?), and the best of all; 3.)this might actually the first and hopefully not last time I would see, touch, smell, luxuriate on this:

Sexy eh? It even comes in several variants...

Of course, I'm expected to practically pee my pants seeing in all its glory a Frank Gehry or an Eames original but the Slow Chair, particular, by the Bouroullec brothers is just, one hell of show stopper. Ever since I saw this featured on Wallpaper, it was practically love at first sight. There's something about the tautness of the mesh over the lithe frame and the tender ease of its sloping back(ooh, was I talking about a chair or an imaginary lover?) that's insistent on pulling you into a time warp where things CAN move in snailpaces. Or so it suggests to be plausible, which is the beauty of the piece. In any case, it's mesmerizing how something this generous in proportion could be so light and deliciously elegant. Did I mention this chair could seat for two? And that another Valentines just past? Oh boy.
